µBIG is a research group part of the Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK) at the University of Freiburg. We develop microsytems for manipulating light in novel ways, and inventing groundbreaking biomedical imaging instruments around them. Alongside the tools of standard micromachining, we are particularly keen on adapting emerging additive and subtractive manufacturing methods for complete design freedom.
